Set in Tokyo, Eyeshield 21 follows the story of Sena Kobayakawa, a shy and physically weak first-year student at Deimon Private High School. Sena’s life takes a dramatic turn when he is recruited—some might say coerced—into joining the school’s fledgling American football team, the Deimon Devil Bats. The series revolves around the team’s journey from underdog status to becoming fierce contenders in the national high school football championship, known as the Christmas Bowl.
